PIOLINK began its venture in 2004 by establishing a branch office in Japan. Achieving its current success was not easy. Lee Myung-shin, Director of Strategic Business Development, reminisced, "The first 10 years were particularly challenging in terms of finding sales channels."

However, PIOLINK now has approximately 40,000 customers, including SMB(small and medium business) clients. Among its major Japanese clients are Nihon Systemware, a system development and IT solutions specialist with about 60 years of history, Ablic (formerly Seiko Instruments Semiconductor), Sharp, and a large corporation referred to as M, primarily deploying the 'TiFRONT Cloud Network' security switch.

PIOLINK is also seeing success in the Southeast Asian market. Its products are used by local branches of domestic conglomerates and financial institutions, as well as local public institutions. Director Lee stated, "For the first five years in the Southeast Asian market, we relied on single-project sales through KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency). However, through continuous contact with local businesses related to our projects, we naturally built trust relationships. Especially in Vietnam and Malaysia, the number of companies handling our products has increased to about three to four."

Since 2003, PIOLINK has actively engaged in marketing by attending various local seminars and frequently communicating with local customers. To manage multiple partner companies, they established major distributor-level partners in each country, such as Peri-tech in Malaysia and Infoplus in Vietnam, supporting sales and services through these distributors. As a result, in 2023, PIOLINK's sales in Southeast Asia doubled compared to the previous year, marking the beginning of significant growth. In the first half of this year, they have already surpassed the total sales of 2023 in Southeast Asia, according to the company.

Recently, PIOLINK delivered a large quantity of cloud security switches to the Malaysian Department of Insolvency (MDI) in two phases. Director Lee remarked, "In the Southeast Asian market, where low-cost switches are preferred, it is very significant that we emphasized the importance of security and integrated management and earned the customers' choice. This achievement gives us great expectations for acquiring new customers in the Malaysian public market in the future."
